I am looking at buying an All-in-one PC and would like to use it as a TV as well. I am looking to buy one that is relatively cheap in price since that is what I can afford. After I get the PC I was going to buy a USB TV tuner and just plug the cord from my satellite receiver into the tuner. I have googled and googled and cannot figure out if when, I run a cord from my receiver to the tuner, I will be able to watch all the channels that I am able to watch normally. I DO NOT care if they are in HD or not since I do not even have HD now. It feels like it should work but I was not sure?!

	Acer Aspire AX1700, Desktop PC - Intel Core 2 Duo E7300, 4GB DDR2, 750GB, GeForce G100
Vista Home Premium 64.

AND
Toshiba satellite A305-S6858 , 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T5750, 4GB /300gb, Intel 965GM Express
Intel GMA X3100 (integrated), Vista Home Premium 64.

Thats the equipment im using. I like to get that out.

Im having issues with both computers. Both computers came with HDMI outputs, But 50% of the time their is NO sound. I have to restart the computer 3 or 4 times sometimes before sound will play from the HDMI. video is perfect, full 1080p but the sound comes and goes.

My desktop is set up on a 50&quot; 1080p plasma screen tv, it is the only monitor I use for it. I watch movies I have saved to the hard drive, and movies from online like netflix. The picture/video is always perfect, but the Audio works sometimes and sometimes dont. I use my laptop for our 42&quot; plasma tv in the bedroom sometimes, and it does the same thing. Audio 50% of the time, until I restart many times.
So I know its not the TV&#039;s . Also when ever HIMI is hooked up the headphone or analog audio out does not work. I can only get audio from the HDMI.

What can I do to keep audio signal working from the HDMI?

Thanks

I want to watch CNBC Europe using a satellite dish in the UK. Is there a freeview service with which I can pick up the channel?

Or is there a way of streaming CNBC to my television through a PC TV card?
Hi, Thank you for your reply.

I am very sorry, but actually I did not mention that it would be best if it would be available on a free service. CNBC is actually a free channel and I was hoping that its available in the UK for free.

The company claims that for $50 you can download software that allows you to watch thousands of satellite channels from all over the world. It&#039;s pretty new software and I wasn&#039;t able to find many reviews online, especially ones from average people. Has anyone purchased this? Does it work and how well? I&#039;d love to get rid of my dish and save that money each month, but want to make sure this isn&#039;t a scam.

I just bought a new Sony DVR Recorder...Is it possible to record anything at all without the use of a cable box or satellite tuner. In other words can you use an ATI tv tuner through my PC or can I go through an old VCR? This is a waste of a product if I can&#039;t. I&#039;m on a budget and really don&#039;t want to spend any more money renting a cable box. I want to just be able to record my favorite tv shows but without the cable box I&#039;m not sure I can. I want to watch my sports team on TV on my laptop when I&#039;m out of town. I was thinking of two possible solutions. 1) try a satellite tv to pc service or 2) buy a Slingbox and try to set this up. For #1, are the satellite to to pc services legit? Will they have the major tv networks in the US. For #2, I think it will work, but this costs about $175 for Slingbox. Which is the better option?
Well, I decided to use Slingbox. That would allow me to not miss the games that are broadcast locally when I&#039;m out of town as that&#039;s what I really want to watch. So far, it wasn&#039;t easy, but I finally got Slingbox set up to work on my LAN and I&#039;m gonna try remotely with WiFi tomorrow. I am a bit leery about the Sattelite TV to PC programs. Most of them appear to be scams (just look at the duplicated entries in the answers to this post).

<description>
Without nuclear weapons, most of the technological advances since WWII would never have been made. No TV, no PC, no cell-phone, no Tang.

There certainly would have been technological advances, but nothing approaching what has actually happened.

This is because without nuclear weapons, there would have been no space program, no satellite communications, and no pressing need to miniaturize electronics or create new high-tech materials like plastics and carbon composites.

All of this was a consequence of the possibility of nuclear weapons, mostly because of the race between the US and USSR to achieve nuclear dominance over the world.

Without all this, there would have never been the huge explosion of world economy. We would not have had the money to put up superhighways all over the place, and we would not have developed the scientific techniques to build all the new technologies we have today.

So what would the world be like now?
TV would not be much without satellites.

Where could I get that thing where you access all the channels in the world? Not the ones that are provided through the internet, which you pay each month, no. I&#039;d like something like a TV tuner but not only from a certain satellite, but from many satellites. Thanks...

Do you form the internet connection, then run the program? Is it actually a program? Can you delete your account after you buy it? can you cancel your membership? do they erase your credit card info after you buy it?

I have an HP desktop PC with a Cable TV tuner (PCI) . What I want to do is watch stations (legally) from the desktop but the place i live in currently doesn&#039;t have Broad Band cable.

What alternatives are there to receiving tv signals wirelessly. I was thinking about getting a mini satellite dish and a dish-network subscription,,,will this work? And will this work with a cable card hooked up to the dish?

Thanks in advance

	Hy
I was wondering how could I make a TV home system, like the one you have in hotels, with one server center sending the channels to all the tv-s so i need just one satellite receiver? I am searching for a simple solution, like a satellite receiver with LAN connection and a Linux server PC, something in that combination.

Thanks

<title>Resolved Question: Planning to connect my PC with an Nvidia Geforce 9800GT video card to a TV, need some help?</title>

<description>
As stated, the video card is an Nvidia Geforce 9800GT, here is the page with info and specs

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130435

its handled great in my PC

Me and a friend will be moving into an apartment within the next 3 months, and we are not very keen on adding a satellite or cable bill to our rent, internet, and utilities. So we figured this would be a beautiful substitute.

(note:along with the card came a cable that connects to the Svideo and turns into what looks like RCA jacks, but they are not red, white, and yellow, they are red, blue, and green, and it looks like you plug jacks into them rather than vice versa)

So the main points I would like some insight on are these:

1.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16889253200

I assume that this TV can have a PC connected to it, however, I don&#039;t necessarily know the best way to go about it, and also, what would be the best way to pull this one off.

If this TV doesn&#039;t work for what I&#039;m trying to do, please, do point me in the direction of one that could, it would be very helpful.

2.If the above TV is sufficient for my needs, what adapters/cables/etc. would I need to complete the task

Any help would be greatly appreciated of course

	Hi everyone,

I was wondering if I will be able to watch TV in my PC WITHOUT plugging the tv cable in my PC with this tv tuner: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&amp;item=150371489730&amp;ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123

My landlord (who lives downstairs) and I want to share her cable, she has a satellite but we don&#039;t know how to do it, and we don&#039;t won&#039;t to do a hole in the floor/roof to pass a cable by.
Is it possible?
Also, if it works, will I be able to watch my own TV channels while she is watching hers?

Thanks for your help, it&#039;s way appreciated!
Alex

<description>
I DO NOT WANT TO BUY HAUPPAUGE. VERY BAD SUPPORT AND NO INFORMATION.

Hi folks.
Here is my Computer Config.

Intel Core i7 920
Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5
Corsair 6GB @1333
Sunbeamtech CCF 120
XFX Nvidia GTX260
Hauppauge WinTV PVR 150
Seagate HDD 1TB + 1.5TB*2
Vista 64 Bit

What I need to know is which internal TV Tuner/Capture card should I go in for as the Hauppauge WinTV PVR 150 doesnt work well above 4gb of RAM. So to use it I need to limit my RAM to under 4GB.
The quality is pretty good for both viewing and capturing. But I don&#039;t want to use the work around or reduce my RAM.

Please suggest me a good internal TV Tuner/Capture card which will work with my PC config and allow good capture.

I have shortlisted a few models. Please tell me which is the best.

WinFast PxDVR3200 H (CURRENTLY AVAILABLE)
http://www.leadtek.com/eng/tv_tuner/overview.asp?lineid=6&amp;pronameid=377&amp;check=f

AVerTV Satellite Trinity(CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE)
http://www.avermedia.eu/avertv/UK/Product/ProductDetail.aspx?Id=430

AVerTV Duo Hybrid PCI-E II(CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE){PCE-E I AVAILABLE)
http://www.avermedia.com/avertv/Product/ProductDetail.aspx?Id=450

 AVerTV Hybrid Speedy PCI-E(CURRENTLY AVAILABLE)
http://www.avermedia.eu/avertv/UK/Product/ProductDetail.aspx?Id=425

I want a card to support STB and analog TV connections like the Speedy PCI-E does.
But it should be future ready for windows 7 and support DVB-S2.

Please help me out to make a choice between the ones available. Though I do not mind waiting a while till the unavailable products are out on the market.

Help me to choose between the models I have specified. NO HAUPPAUGE PLEASE.

There are 3000 channels. None have NFL in the title. By the time I find a game, it will be over!
The NFL Network is listed, but of course that channel doesn&#039;t work. When I click on one of the espn channels, there is always a soccer game. But who needs football when you have the Loch Ness channel? Scoping out some water is just as fun as watching Bret Favray throw a block! Go Nessie!
