<description>
	In late September, I was diagnosed to have Non-Hodgkin&#039;s Lymphoma. I just had my first Chemotherapy session on November 4. Now, the side effects are making me incapable of making a living again. I am a freelance teacher teaching the Cebuano language to expatriates. My ex-husband is only giving 5,000 pesos support for my daughter. It didn&#039;t bother me before as I was still capable of earning and paying rent, bills and buying food. Now, I have asked him to help me these days. He is reluctant to help and seems to be avoiding the issue. He is now living with his mistress and to my understanding, it&#039;s the woman who is keeping him from giving help. His mistress is also a singer and is working with him on the same cruise liner. Now, my question is what legal actions can I make to ensure that my ex-husband will give a regular and fixed support?

<description>
	Hi! I have a green package that contains two packs of rice. What on earth do I do with this? I found &quot;ketupat&quot; in Wikipedia, where it says &quot;Ketupat is a type of dumpling from Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Singapore, and the Philippines (where it is known by the name Patupat in Kapampangan. Pusô in Cebuano, or Ta&#039;mu in Tausug)&quot;

I see from the packaging that after cooking in its own packet it appears to produce a solidified slice-able starchy white mass of rice. But what is its purpose? Do I flavor it with something? How do I serve it? Does it taste good? What is the best way to prepare it? Can you direct me to a recipe that you personally recommend?

Would really appreciate feedback from someone who has made this before and has some firsthand experience with it. Thanks!
I&#039;ve googled it enough to know it&#039;s traditionally wrapped and cooked in coconut leaves (I&#039;d just cook it in its own packaging). I just want to know its context in a meal and how to serve to enjoy it the most.

	I really like this song, but I can barely speak Cebuano. (or any language other than English...)

&quot;Sine-sine&quot; by: Missing Filemon

Sine-sine wala ta&#039;y laing lingaw
Kandila luyo sa habol
Katawang binayran ug pisong kinawat
Sa gubaong pitakang lola
Anino sa mga artistang papel
Gihinganlan tag si pedro&#039;g sabel
Silang bida ning atong istorya
Sa gugma nga wa&#039;y katumanan

Sine, sine, sine sa bata pa
Di na unta matapos pa
Bisan paman sa pagdagan sa panahon
Lantawon ang mga eksena nga mulakbay
Tanang tawo maka-sakay
Saksihan ta ang pagdagan sa panahon,
Panahon

Kalipay, kasakit ug kalami
Silang bida niining salida sa gugma nga way katuman

Sine, sine, sine sa bata pa
Di na unta matapos pa
Bisan paman sa pagdagan sa panahon
Lantawon ang mga eksena nga mulakbay
Tanang tawo maka-sakay
Saksihan ta ang pagdagan sa panahon,
Panahon

	okay, don&#039;t call me stupid for asking this question, i&#039;m just wondering why...

why do SOME filipinos dislike using filipino (tagalog, cebuano etc...) in their daily conversations and instead use english in that case?

SOME of them tend to be like: &quot;oooh, i don&#039;t wanna go study in that school, most students there are too BISDAK...etc.&quot;

Well, I understand talking in english makes you sound smarter but too much of it can just let people regard you as OA, etc.

why are some filipinos like that? what&#039;s bad in speaking tagalong/cebuano?

I&#039;m just wondering, NO HARD FEELINGS, please. :)

	Will someone please share with me the differences between the Philippine (Cebuano) culture and the American culture? I&#039;m referring to everyday, social and business culture differences. Please, no culture bashing! I&#039;m looking for sincere, polite yet truthful and objective responses. I look forward to reading all responses.
Yup! I totally agree. Especially when it concerns extended family members and the elderly.

<description>
	Filipino or Tagalog? Is there really a difference? Sometimes, we just shrug this question off. It&#039;s easy to say these two don&#039;t have a difference since native speakers of these languages will not be strangers when they talk. They will understand each other completely.
But technical translations demand more literal transfers. Consequently whether to use Filipino or Tagalog becomes a conscious question. When source words are without exact equivalents in Tagalog, here is where Filipino becomes useful. In a sense, one often resorts to using Filipino when &quot;pure Tagalog&quot; expressions can&#039;t be found. A translation therefore can be a mixture of Filipino or Tagalog, assuming that there is a clear line that distinguishes them from each other.

Tagalog is not a dialect but a major language in the Philippines. Within the Tagalog region, there are many dialects such as the variations found in Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Mindoro, Palawan, Quezon, Rizal and Batangas provinces. Ninety percent of native Tagalog speakers are born and bred and grew up in these provinces.

Filipino is based on Tagalog. Without Tagalog, I doubt if there will ever be a clear identification of the Filipino language. On second thought, maybe, Filipino will be based on Cebuano, or Ilocano, or Bicolano, or Ilongo which are also major languages. Some Cebuanos are sometimes jealous because majority of the so-called Filipino words and expressions are actually Tagalog.

	My Cebuano friend had a job interview for a company in Manila. The interviewer asked him &quot;what do you think is your worst trait&quot; My friend said &quot;i tend to be a little proud sometimes&quot; Then the interviewer said &quot;aren&#039;t all Cebuanos?&quot;

Do Cebuanos act proud in Manila?
