I was maybe 5 and I remember playing Duck Hunt and Super Mario Bros. Ahhh great times.. Anyway, now it kind of lost it's essence with the Wii and everything. It doesn't target the hardcore as well as they use to. But I don't blame Nintendo, since the gaming industry is a multi-billion dollar industry. Business should always come first. I grew up listening to the term. Farthest back I can remember was with Super Mario Bros. for the NES... my cousins used to play that and The Legend of Zelda all the time with my uncle. I was three. Nintendo, in my country, is the default name for any gaming console. If your parent bought you a playstation, you'd say you got a new nintendo. And when asked which nintendo, you'd say "A playstation". Nintendo means, to me, a lot of memories as well as my dreams. I grew up with it, and my ambition to make games came from it... I got a NES and then began to interest about Nintendo, when I got my first GameBoy, I became a serious Nintendo Handhelds Fan. Except for the gameboy micro I've had all the handhelds, actually I got a DS Lite and just loved it. Nintendo means for me Fun... Innovation... and Simplicity without compromising Quality. Mr. Miyamoto, I cannot remeber how young I was when I first heard Nintendo, but I do remeber the word "fun" coming into my mind everytime Nintendo was mentioned. I have been a fan of Nintendo my entire life. I absolutely love all of the consoles and games. I have always felt that visuals, although important, are not what makes a game great. It's the ability to pick up and play a game that takes you into a entirely different world that really makes a wonderful game. Today the term "Nintendo" still means to me what it did all those years ago: FUN. THe Wii and the DS are the best examples of how to make videogames the right way implementing fun and accessiblity. Thank you, and I cannot wait for Mario Galaxy!

i heard it when i was about 5 and my uncle bought me the Nintendo 64. the first game we had on it was super Mario 64. it was amazing! everyone in my family had one too. at first, i was really bad at it, but after a few months i was better than everyone else in the family. When I was about 5 years old (1997) and the Game Boy was a huge hit with all of my friends. I thought they were a bit wierd because the games seemed so simple. It wasn't until the Game Boy Advance came out that I started to look into handheld gaming. The games were certainly fun but seemed like a time waster than a time filler. Then, the Nintendo DS came out and I was amazed. I never thought that Nintendo would be the one to first use such innovative technologies when making a handheld gaming platform. I now own a Nintendo DS and love playing Warioware every day, even though I have an Xbox 360 sitting in my living room. Today, I see the term "Nintendo" as the king of all casual games. Sadly, I am more of a hardcore gamer, but games like Legend of Zelda: Twlight Princess are very attractive and I hope to see more games like it in the future, especially Metroid Prime 3.

Nintendo has (almost) always been synonymous with quality. Though the business decisions have not always been perfect (i.e. parting ways with Squaresoft--oops!), Nintendo has proven over the years that innovation is key in the video game industry. For an example, look no further than the wii. I love that system, but would love to see more third party titles! By the way, I was 3 when I first played Nintendo, and haven't stopped.

I don't actually remember hearing it for the first time. But I LOVED to play it. It's classic. I can't really say I had a favorite game either, because I really liked to play a variety. Just thinking about it makes me think of being a kid again, and just hanging out with friends. If there was a place I could buy a BRAND NEW Nintendo, I think I'd be all for it. I first heard the word Nintendo when I was about 10 or 11, and it didn't really mean much to me then, as I never had a games machine or computer until I was at university. Now however, the two things that spring to mind when I hear the word are Mario, and quality. I think the first is pretty self explanatory, but the second... The number of games available on any of the Nintendo systems has always been limited, especially when you compare it to some of the other consoles, such as the playstation. This is one of the best things Nintendo have done, IMHO - from my understanding of it, Nintendo license their games manufacturers and impose strict standards of them, so the gaming quality has always been high, no matter what game you were playing. On the other consoles, especially the aforementioned playstation, almost ANYBODY can write games for it, and so the gaming quality can be pretty hit and miss, and the large number of games available means you have to sift through hundreds of rot games to find one good one (a fact that is equally evident on pc's).

I was probably 5 when I heard of Nintendo from my older brother. He wanted it as a birthday gift. When he received it, we played ALL night long on Super Mario. My brother just purchased Nintendo Wii. We played Mario Party 8 ALL night long. I think it's safe to say...we're big Nintendo fans. I think I was 6 or 7 (in the late 90's) when I first heard of the Nintendo 64 and the GameBoy. The name "Nintendo", to me, means a great video game icon that revolutionized video gaming history.

I do not remember exactly how old I was. I was born in 78 so I was pretty young. I had an Atari and I luckily got a Nintendo also. I am an only child and I grew up on farm land, so you can say that the Nintendo was my best friend. The only Nintendo system that I have not owned is the Gamecube. I went PlayStation 2 but I am now returning to the Wii. There is nothing as original or has the game play as a Nintendo.

I still think that Nintendo is the best system ever and I bought the Wii, I enjoy the Wii more than anything I have ever played, I love the creation and just the idea of moving around and acting silly!

When I first heard the term "Nintendo" I was 5 yrs. old. Ever since, I have always been into video games, not just in the playing sense, but also the coding sense. Always fascinated with the technological renderings, and the amazing and complex story lines. Nintendo means to me, a new standard, for all. It reflects a company that always delivers. In the face of adversity, people seemed to back away from them, thinking they would simply fade into the night, well this company proved everyone who believed that wrong. Nintendo now means to mean, not just delivery of great product, but an amazing come back.

I was about 12 I think, and the system I got had Robbie the robot, that unfortunately didn't survive my inquisitve stage. To me, Nintendo means, permanent arthritis in my right thumb. But if I could make money playing I would.

How old were you... Just old enough to have stopped drooling only to start drooling again! What does it mean... OMG OMG OMG OMG (Such as OMG Nintendo has another game system out OMG more Mario! OMG Legend of Zelda) I'd go on here but I think you get the point.
