	I&#039;m thinking about changing my last name because my parents kicked me out of the house when I told them I was a lesbian. I have German and English heritage and I think that it would good to stay within those last names if possible. Does any one have any suggestions about names or the name changing process?

	This is for my story.
My characters, Richard and Maria are cousins.

Richard has a daughter (Jasmine) that is 16 years old
Maria has a son (Tristan) that is 27 years old.

So are Jasmine and Tristan second cousins or first cousins?
I&#039;m sorry if this is a stupid question, I&#039;m just confusing myself.

<description>
	I was wondering if anyone knew of any free web sites, where you can find really old family history, on a global scale? I know some people are probably wondering why I&#039;m asking this, and the answer is I have a huge family, that&#039;s just getting bigger....Apparently my great grand father had some kind of huge influence. that I&#039;m not sure of how or on what on, because the only people I can ask are my grand father and my great uncles/ aunts, and there all in their late 70&#039;s, early 80&#039;s, and most of them are loosing their minds. So I&#039;m pretty sure, that my family history goes back to about the 1500&#039;s maybe further, I just can&#039;t find a web site that goes that far back and on a global scale...Could some one please help???

<description>
	Here&#039;s a little a about me-
We have an 11-month old girl and she is our life. We have adopted her since birth. We are a fertile couple, but since I was a little girl I felt in my heart to adopt. She is our only child and with have no plans for another baby. We treat our daughter as any other loving and responsible parents should. We are planning to tell her that she is adopted at an early age and her natural parents sees her 2 to 4 times a month.

Here&#039;s the reason behind my questions: We have noticed from reading many answers from adoptees that they are bitter from the fact that they were adopted and usually they express negatively about their adoptive parents. For me as a parent, I want to educate myself as much as possible to be prepare to face all the challenges that parenthood brings, but furthermore I want to be able to raise my daughter in a way that she knows that she is the most loved and important person in her dad&#039;s and my life. I want her to become a loving human being with a good heart, principals and values. I want to be able to do everything in my power to be the the best mom she could ever have. Therefore, I was wandering if anyone that has been adopted can share with me some do&#039;s and dont&#039;s that may be helpful racing my daughter. I would appreciate your honesty, but please no out-of-place comments just to hurt me. This is a serious topic and I take it to heart. Thanks for reading and participating!
So I would like to know from adoptees:

1. How do you feel about the fact that you were adopted?

2. If you feel good or bad about it- what factor(s) you think may have contributed on your emotions?

3. How do you feel about your adoptive parents? Did they give you love and showed you afection?

4. How do you feel about your birth parents?

5. For those of you that encountered bad experience with your adoptions: What do you think your adoptive parents could have done to make your childhood happier or what could have been done to build a strong bond?

Thanks once again!

<description>
	Hello, I need my grandparent&#039;s marriage certificate in order to apply for my UK Ancestry visa.

I&#039;m from Ontario, Canada, and there&#039;s the office of the registrar general - but I&#039;d have to get my aunt or mother to apply for a copy of the certificate since it&#039;s only sent to next of kin. I have no clue WHERE in Canada they were married, only their names and an approximate 10 year time frame that they probably were married before my mom/aunts/uncles were born.

I am willing to pay for the various ancestry websites but was wondering if anyone has any other suggestions for means of finding such a certificate with not much information? It&#039;s like searching for a needle in a haystack.

	I think it would be really neat to find out who my familys&#039; ancestors are, where they were born, etc. But where can I find such records?

I was thinking about maybe doing it as a gift for my family, but would I have to go into individual family trees, for example: My mothers maiden last name, my grandmothers maiden last name, and so on?

Thanks for the help! :)

	I&#039;ve been doing genealogy for about a year and a half and I know what Church records are. I know that you can order microfilm of certain years for certain things like baptisms, marriages, burials, etc. through Family History Centers (I&#039;ve done it plenty of times), but I get confused on how to get a &quot;church book.&quot; Are there books that contain all the records for a certain church that are reproduced and sold? If so, how do I start the process of ordering one? Who do I contact? How much do they cost?

	I am looking for many ancestors and relations. If you can find as much as you can for a certian person thank you.
Alexander J. Du Pont born May 13 1876
Died: Apr 1967 in Norfolk, Norfolk City, VA
he married:

Jenny Laurion (Jenny is what the family called her in the 1920 American Census they lived in Sprague, New London, Connecticut and her name was listed as Eugenie)
Born: around 1885

Alexander and Jenny (Eugenie) had a child Jermaine (it might be spelled with a G) Du Pont born 1918.

Jenny (Eugenie) could have been born 19 Nov 1894 and died 29 Mar 1982 in Hartford, Hartford, CT. They lived in connecticut in the 1920 Census and could have lived there her whole life.

Jenny (Eugenie) had a sister Alma who was born in 1874 and died in 1964.

I am mostly looking for any information I can find on Jenny (Eugenie) parents. We do not know anything about them except that they were the Laurions and they probably lived in Canada. Quite possibly the Ste-Hyacinthe, Quebec area.

If you can find any information on J(G)ermaine please let me know. Alex Du Pont isn&#039;t of much concern seeing as he is not a direct relation and I have most everything I need on him.

Thank you very much. If you find the parent&#039;s names, you will get 5 stars, 10 points, and I will love you forever!

Thank you,
bullfrog1995

<description>
	I recently went to rootsweb.com and searched under their Social Security Death Index and found my great grandmother. I am wondering, when I order the application will it have the names of the person&#039;s parents?

My great grandmother came over to the united states from Scotland in 1920 and died in 1982. So anytime between then she filled out her application for her social security. I could never find any records on her father and I am wondering if back then, when you applied for a card if you needed to put down parent&#039;s information.

Also, when applying does it require the mother&#039;s maiden name also? Because if so, this would be fantastic.

Thank you

	I need to make a family tree as a school project and I&#039;m a little confused. I&#039;m just starting from my grandparents and the problem I&#039;m having is I don&#039;t know understand where to put my my parents&#039; siblings&#039; husband/wives. I know that fromthe grandparents you put all there children in a row, right? But where do you put there husband or wife?
I hope I explained it alright and I can add additional details if needed. Oh, and a visual would be great.
Thanks!
