<description>
	I recently incorporated from a sole proprietorship in which I do legal research. I also work a small job coaching gymnastics on the side. I make under $25,000 a year. I have to get a business checking account to continue doing the legal research, since I am now incorporated my client won&#039;t write a personal check. I contacted the bank and they told me that I cannot make transfers from business to personal, I do not make enough money to have two separate checking accounts plus I invoice weekly. I sometimes only have a couple hundred dollars in my personal account. I&#039;m a stay at home mom and I need these jobs to allow me to be with my son. How would you do your banking. Should I open a personal account and business and hope I don&#039;t get any bounced checks, or can I do all my personal and business checking under my business account?

<pubDate>Fri, 04 Dec 2009 03:39:39 GMT</pubDate>
<description>
	I live in Warren, MI. Lots of fat people here, so not sure if anyone will join, but I would think that if there were more smaller neighborhood gyms that there may be a market. There used to be a World&#039;s Gym near my house that did very well, until a car dealer bought it and tore it down to build yet another parking lot for cars that don&#039;t sell. The old gym was torn down about two years ago.
I am looking at a corner building across from a 7-11 on a main road near bus stops, flower shops, etc.
The building is listed for 175k but the Flower shop owner thinks I can probably get it for under 100k.
I&#039;ve yet to perform full due diligence, so I really do not have info on set costs such as water, heat, insurance, taxes, etc.
Any gym owners, former gym owners out there with any advise?
The economy around here is sour, but I think I may be seeing a niche. The only other gyms around here are located at a community center 5 miles away and there is an LA Fitness 3 miles away and a Ballys 3 miles away.
I&#039;m looking at something small; more of a nighborhood gym like you might see in a boximg movie like Rocky...not a big fancy &quot;where all the beautiful people go&quot; meet market.,

Three treadmills, a couple Nautalis machines and mostly free wights. I would hope to make most of my money from selling supplements, vitamins, creatine, etc.

PROS: would replace niche vacated by previous gym that was torn down
            high traffic area
            public parking
            building might be affordable and easy to convert into a gym
            very close to where I live, wouldn&#039;t even have to drive there
            have some gym equipment already and experience with sales and how gym memberships work

CONS: In a poorer area- higher crime area
            Unsure of potential clientel
            Only ran a lawn service before, never ran a brick-n-mortal business (no retail experience)
            People around here would rather have a fried chicken then a sweaty workout (can that be changed?)
            Unsure of capital costs for commercial gym equipment.

Another thought I had was to negotiate with a local hotel to advertise and sell memberships to their hotel gym to people who live in the area-- I can sell and keep track of members and maintain the gym area, but it will still be open to their guests for free....

Any thoughts or suggestions?

<description>
	My mother in law was an Avon rep for a while. She really didn&#039;t make any sales so she stopped doing it. While she was a rep, she would bring books over for me to look at. When I asked her for samples of lipsticks and perfume, she said that she didn&#039;t have any because she had to buy them herself. She also said she had to buy her books every month.

I am interested in becoming a rep. I know someone that used to do Avon back in the 80&#039;s but she always had samples. I was under the impression you get them free. I haven&#039;t found any information online telling me that you have to buy them. Is my mother in law right?
Does anyone know approximately how much it runs for books/samples. I have about $75 in savings. I am trying to plan ahead until I start making some money that I can put that back into my business.

	In order to do research at university you need to get first to get fairly good GCSEs and A-levels.
Then complete a 3 year degree with fairly good marks and a years long master’s degree and then a 3-4 years long PH.D with good marks, this costing £3000 per year plus living costs and accommodation, leaving the student with large debt having not worked in term time (loss of earnings compared to other schools leaves) having worked hard for 9-10 year (35-60 hours per week) while not been legally required too. Then to be paid £30,000 per year
Compare this to a student leaving school with good GCSEs there average wage over the years will be about £20,000 over 10 years which gives them £200,000 more than the researcher, the researcher may have £40,000 debt from studies leaving the researcher £240,000 worse off if the researcher progresses they may be paid £16,000 a year more over their career so it will take 15 years to catch up to the school leaver
Why isn’t the researcher rewarded better.

	I am a not profit. I am just starting out. I have practically no money. I can&#039;t get donations unless people see what I am doing. But I can&#039;t get going because city hall has a lot of codes that they need adhering to - like wheelchair accessibility. Do I just rent a place that is zoned correctly, and start? We want to start a drop-in centre that does non-stop support group meetings. We&#039;re in Canada.

	I know, its said that you can&#039;t do it.
But I&#039;m a strong believer in if you set your mind to it and truly believe you can do anything.
Any ideas? One plan I have is we have scrap metal laying around our house and to make trash bins out of them, pretty it up and make aluminum recycling bins to place around the county.
any more?
I want to raise around 10-30 thousand dollars in like a month or two hahah.
