Applying for a PGCE course with an Early Childhood Studies degree?

Question

Basically, I want to apply to do a PGCE course eventually once I have completed my Early Childhood Studies degree.

The thing, I would like to apply to teach 5-11 year olds, however, I'm not sure whether or not my degree would only make me eligible to teach 3-7 year olds and whether it would make a difference in me getting a job as a Primary school teacher?

A degree in ECS is not a teaching qualification, so No you can't teach with this degree
You can however check if any of the units of your degree crossover with the PGCE
An ECS allows you to work in Pre school establishments, not in primary schools

Jan 409 doesn't seem to have read your question.
Be pre-emptive and explain why the change in age group in applications but your degree could well be more relevant than some such as history.
