Hello, I have a 3 year old Akita that was given to my mom. She lives in my backyard. She has been with us since she was a month old. Since a puppy she has been a wild child but always in a playful way. I also have two older females; one 12 year old chihuahua and a 10 year old terrier. Recently we rescued a 2 year old terrier. For some time my Akita has always been stubborn and was always bothering my older dogs to play but I did try to make distance between them. She loved to shove them when they wanted attention from me. They used to bark at each other but never lead to anything serious.
But last month became territorial (I think) because she attacked my chihuahua in the most aggressive way that I have ever seen her. She even drew blood from her. It broke my heart. I had to separate their sleeping areas. Now a couple of days ago she did the same with one of my terriers and I'm fearing that she could be dangerous even to my mom and myself. I don't know what to do. She has also been a bit distant from us and she ignores us when we call her and looks at us weird. I'm afraid that she'll snap one day and attack us too. Please help.
