It had shut down because of financial reasons and is now back up. Wondering what you think about the site.

Yes indeed! There.com is the best social virtual world available today (in my humble opinion). If you've explored other virtual worlds and then try There, you will quickly see how amazing the avatar movement is, how incredible the vehicles are, how fun the paintball is and how friendly the people are. I've been in all the social virtual worlds and There is the one I always come back to. Give it a try!

Yes i do. When it shut down in 2010, i migrated over to Second Life but now that There re-opened i am trying to spend time in both worlds. At first glance, it is easy to understand why people turn away from it but there is a lot more to do than people realize. There is a definite sense of community as people are very interested in helping out whoever needs it. There are many modes of transportation which allow you to go anywhere in the world without having to teleport. I am sure there is a lot more i can add but the best way to find out is to try it for a little while. Just remember, every world has something to offer but if you had to force me to choose then i would choose There hands down. :)

Out of ALL virtual worlds online today, There are no V.R. Worlds out online today that can even compare to what THERE.COM has to offer. ( with the exception of Second Life, IMO I do not consider SL to be a true virtual world, Its pure sandbox meaning if you want physics etc. you have to code it in yourself! ) THERE.COM Has physics, for some of the BEST (free to go where you want) Buggy off road racing as well as FunZone Buggy race traks which you can build yourself and then host buggy racing event to bring people in to try out your new race trak! There are also FunZones for Paintball too. ( in certain areas of There you can paintball outside in the open if you want. )

THERE.COM Has several modes for a place to live as well as Vast open terrain with hills and mountains, valleys, all on different sized Islands surrounded by a Ocean that circles the globe!
Yes you heard me right THERE.COM is actually on a massive Real V3D Planet set in Real V3D Space! You can even build a home in a Paz ( a Paz is a square area that comes in many different sizes, which also determine the amount of objects you can drop in them for your home or what ever you are building in it.) This is just one of the ways you can claim a homestead in THERE.COM.
You could also join a Neighborhood or rent out a already placed THERE Home, which are spread out through out all of THERE.COM.

If you are wondering about how and where to get new objects for building or new clothes for your avy, ( avatar ) just goto the THERE.COM Shop or check out the Member Auction pages for an almost endless catagories and lists of Items you can buy using THERE.COM's Money called T-Bux.
( you get 18,000T for $10usd,... which is also the amount you have to pay monthly via PayPal for your subscription to THERE.COM. )


THERE.COM has too many features to list them all here, but a few more are;

1. There.com has Voice chat & text chat, a Instant Messanger.
2. You can save Teleport links to your favorite places
3. You can play a number of table games too, like Poker, Spades, Gin, Uno, Hearts, etc.
a) There are also Dice games etc.
4. your avatar has an AI in it, so If your around someone long enough your avy will smile and recognize the other person your avy will also make emotions and gestures and lip sync to your voice & to the tone (key worlds) of your voice to bring forth the right facial expressions etc.

I can on and on about THERE.COM It really still is ahead of its time, with the exception of it looking like its out from the 1950's era. Graphic Theme wise, which it really isn't.
My Advice is to go and try it for a month, check it out and then decide which virtual world
suits you the best.

P.S. All I know is IMO, once you try THERE.COM, You will always end up THERE in the end! lol

yes i do !!! i was in there for a year before it closed, and have been back since the day i was able when it re-opened... the Thumdar description is good.. but it's hard to describe without being There... check out youtube videos or better yet, give it a try....
buggy races, quests, card games or tournaments, social gatherings, clubs, exploring, riding around on hoverboard, hoverbike, or flying on hoverpacks or hoverboats...
or just hangin with friends... it's a blast...
so, yeah, i do !!!!!

I certainly do. I have a neighborhood and a club 40 meters off the ground. It's a good place to relax, chat, and play cards. I met some very awesome people there.

YES! And I LOVE IT! I played for about 13 months before There shut done and have been back in since Dec'11. I AM SSSSOOO HAPPY There is back. I missed so many of my friends :)
