Use the variable s for the sale price and p for the sticker price.

1) The answer is A because you need to get 60% from the original price of $90. In that case,

S = p - 0.6p -- p = 90
S = (90) - 0.6(90)
S = 90 - 54
S = $36

2) you sure it's 2+6? It's just 8...

3) The answer would look like this:

(9/4) / (3/5)

Since it's dividing a fraction, do the reciprocal of 3/5 and change the sign from division to multiplication. In that case,

(9/4) * (5/3)

You can cancel 9 and 3, looking like this:

(3/4) * (5/1)

The answer would be 15/4. Converting it to a mixed fraction, you'll eventually get 3 3/4.
