1919 and earlier, Canadian silver coins are sterling .925.
From 1920 - 1966, they are 80%.
Then it gets tricky, and you'll need to do some testing.
In 1967, dimes and quarters were issued in 80% and 50% versions. The half and dollar are still 80%.
And then in 1968, for reasons I can't explain, some dimes and quarters were issued in 50% silver, but the rest of them, and the half and dollar, are made of nickel.

This is a vast subject. So many coins, so many years.
All I can say is that from 1920 onwards, Canadian silver coins have 80 percent silver content. Before that they had been 92.5 percent silver.
