What does "implications" mean in this sentence?

I'm suppose to write an essay the topic is" Social Networking Applications (SNAs) are very popular in our increasingly interconnected society. Critically discuss the security threats and their strategic implication for organisations using SNAs.”

Please explain it in your own words so I can understand it..

    In my own words:

Implications are the large-scale effects of a policy. For instance, one implication of dumping trash in the river is that the drinking water downstream will not be pleasant. It is what happens as a result of what gets done. They can also be indirect, or abstract, like the moral implications of dumping trash in the river.

So in this question, you're evaluating the security threats and their strategic implication, which means, what can these security threats do to organizations using SNAs? How will they affect the organization's policy?

Social Networking Applications (SNAs) basically means stuff like Facebook, twitter etc. these are becoming more and more popular day by day, as people are becoming more interconnected, and want to be in touch with each other.

Some organizations also use SNA ( like creating a company page on Facebook etc)
1.You need to discuss the security threats that these organizations face by using the SNA
    2. You also need to discuss how does using the SNA effect the strategy of these organizations, like they can get more in touch with customers, etc.

    Hope that helps :)
