Minecraft server trouble?

Question

whenerver someone tries to connect to my server they just get the error message
iprespose code 503 for url minecraft.net/game/joinserver.jsp and then their username

I am using the minecraft server softwere provided by notch

how do i fix this problem???

You can't. Minecraft is currently offline due to the huge number of updates being implemented. Once Notch has finished the overhaul, your server should be accessible.

Notch's servers are down for now, so we can't use multi player. Otherwise, there are no third party programs we could use to connect (that I know of) so we can't start on the city.
