I'm currently at a Community College, in my 3rd year. I'm studying graphic design and I've so far completed 46 units and I have a 3.02 GPA.
I actually have 2 questions.
I technically have a 2.910 GPA. Not including my Math 80 course, which is not CSU transferrable, and using Academic Renewal on my Astronomy class, I have a 3.02 GPA. I'm currently taking a Math 115 course which is going at too fast of a pace for me to completely understand. I'm 100% sure I won't get a B in the class to maintain my 3.0 GPA. Should I drop the class and get a W or continue to take the course? If I took the course and got a passing C, I'd get a 2.86 GPA. Would a 3.02 look better on Cal State applications?
I'm planning to apply in November to the Cal States and wanted to know if I even have a chance. I'm done with my GE requirements from following the IGETC plan. I plan to apply to Cal State LA, Fullerton, Long Beach, and if possible, Cal Poly Pomona. Would a 3.02 GPA even be considered for these schools? My counselor said CSULA would probably and maybe UCR. I know what you're thinking, I should've tried harder. I know this, but it's too late to look back. I'm taking my Graphic Design's major requirements this semester and those courses are the ones I know I'm good at.
Also, for portfolios, do these schools require it? If so, when do I send them?
