The White House is obsessed with passing this Health Care bill because by controlling the Health Care of a people - you control those people. Obama wants all Americans to be dependent on the Federal government for all their needs - not just health care - that is just the freedom that is being robbed from us at this time. He will attack more of our freedoms in the future AFTER he passes this bill - he is so desperate to have this bill pass - he doesn’t care if it’s good for the tax payer or not - he wants it passed. He knows this bill will go towards destroying the middle class in America - a pet project of his.

Once Obama knows this bill is passed he will then focus his attention on the legaizing of ALL illegal immigrants currently living in America! - that’s right - amnesty for all - and YOU the tax payer will be paying for them.

This little unmentioned tid bit is why Obama promises “no illegal aliens will be covered under my health care bill” - because there won’t be - he’s going to make them ALL legal! Ha ha, joke is on YOU - you nasty, money hungry tax payer! Obama doesn’t like you - he doesn’t like Capitalism, he doesn’t like American values and he doesn’t like the Constitution. He views himself as a King and this was put in full view by that total joke of a “Health Care Summit” - he is clearly a danger to America and our American future.

On top of the fact that Obama wants the federal government to run your health care - he is also offering to pay for any pre-existing conditions. This is a recipe for disaster and will further bankrupt our great country. If this passes there will be a mad rush to the emergency rooms by both citizens and non citizens - legal and illegal - all for this “free” care.

Let’s come back to the real world for a moment. Say that you own a car but you do NOT own any car insurance. One day you are driving and you get into an accident and it ruins your car. In the real world you are out of luck and must either get a different car or pay to have your wrecked car fixed.

In Obama’s world you would be able to go in to the car insurance company and purchase car insurance. The best that they have! This insurance will then cover the accident that you just had - isn’t that wonderful? But if this were to actually be true - how long do you think that insurance company would be in business? The answer is not very long.

How about if you own a nice home and you have home insurance - you just do not have fire insurance. Then one day your home catches on fire and begins to burn out of control - in the real world you have a BIG problem - in Obama’s world you would be able to call your homeowner insurance company and purchase some “fire” insurance - then when the lady asks “why do you need it”? - you can safely respond - “because my home is on fire”! - and bingo - you’re covered! How long would that insurance company be in business? What do you think, they can just print money? Which is exactly what our government plans on doing. Very scary. o_O

"Nothing in the legislation directs the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (which runs Medicare) to limit chemotherapy to any specific number of courses," said Lichter. "I don't know of anything in this bill that tries to limit cancer care." He said physicians want evidence on which treatments are most valuable and which ones have less value. The Senate bill promotes research on the "comparative effectiveness" of different treatments. It says the Secretary of Health and Human Services can use such evidence to decide whether Medicare will pay for specific treatments. But she can't deny coverage solely on the basis of such research and can't use the research in a way that treats extending an elderly or terminally ill person's life "as of lower value" than extending the life of a younger person or of one who isn't terminally ill.

I don't think Obama cares too much about what is really in the bill. From my point of view, his number one agenda is to, as quick as he can, change this great country of ours into the most ideal country of his dreams, a land where all animals are equal (equally poor and in general bad condition) but some animals are more equal than others (the ruling elites). He is very focused at reaching the end result and it has been shown that he will do it through whatever means possible. If this means screwing one population (seniors in this case) but favoring others (certain labor unions and states) to get it done, he will do it. If this means that his party could suffer much lost in 2010, he will do it. If this means that it may cost his seat in 2012, he will do it. If this means the end of health insurance providers (the new face of big evil industry), he will do it.

Did you actually check the fact or fiction box? The claim is FICTION...according to the MSNBC site you linked. I swear, the spreading of incorrect information on this site is alarming...here is what the article says....

Obama Care is rationed and managed care. Everyone will pay a high price and then the government will decides who gets care and who doesn't. This isn't limited to just the elderly either. If you have a disease that is expensive to cure or doesn't have a good outcome usually, it will work like in England and Canada. You will be put on a list and you will die on the list. And don't think you are safe if you are young and healthy. With Obama Care, if you get in an accident, the government may decide that you are too expensive to fix and they will pull the plug.

#1 Wall Street contributes to the Democrat Party 80% Republican 20%

#2 When Palin pointed out the death panels in the bill, the Democrats removed it , then said it's not in there, which they were both right at the time it was said, after the media pointed out it was no longer there. The Democrats put it back in the bill before the vote. So yes, the government gets to put an expiration date on you now.

#3 They keep saying 30 million will be insured, 25 million of those are young people who choose not to carry insurance or just catastrophic insurance who will be FORCED to by full coverage health insurance. They need healthy people buying insurance to pay for the ones who are not so healthy. So for the first time in the history of the USA, the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT WILL BE FORCING IT'S PEOPLE TO BUY INSURANCE APPROVED BY THE GOVERNMENT.

Welcome to hope and change and the largest assault on personal freedoms in the history of our country.

it will limit more than cancer care for the elderly, it will eliminate most care as it does in england.

the panels will determine that treatments for those over a certain age are not cost effective. even now we hear of reports that treating a teenager is better than treating a senior as they still will have earning potential for the state.

eugenics will be the rational end to this type of state care. there simply will not be enough funds and the panel will have the last say on who get what.

the rich, elderly or not, will be able to receive what they can pay for unlike the poor one.

the fact is that the 'evil' insurance company's have a profit margin of 3+%, far lower than McDonald's, Starbucks and many many other companies. the government isn't going after them but has to demonize someone so they can create a common enemy. all propaganda gist for the mill of public opinion. do you own research or you will be misled and become a pawn..remember that pawns are sacrificed to advance a play.

Unbelievable - Harry Reid Hid this deep in the Health Care Bill this passage.
They never stop, they will keep trying to shove this down our throats until they get it through...
The impudent tyranny of Sen. Harry Reid. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada is proving once again the maxim that darkness hates the light.
Buried in his massive amendment to the Senate version of obamacare is Reid's anti-democratic poison pill designed to prevent any future Congress from repealing the central feature of this monstrous legislation! Beginning on page 1,000 of the measure, Section 3403 reads in part: ". it shall not be in order in the Senate or the House of Representatives to consider any bill, resolution, amendment or conference report that would repeal or otherwise change this subsection."
In other words, if barack obama signs this measure into law, no future Senate or House will be able to change a single word of Section 3403, regardless whether future Americans or their representatives in Congress wish otherwise!!
Note that the subsection at issue here concerns the regulatory power of the Independent Medicare Advisory Board (IMAB) to "reduce the per capita rate of growth in Medicare spending."
That is precisely the kind of open-ended grant of regulatory power that effectively establishes the IMAB as the ultimate arbiter of the cost, quality and quantity of health care to be made available to the American people. And Reid wants the decisions of this group of unelected federal bureaucrats to be untouchable for all time.
No wonder the majority leader tossed aside assurances that senators and the public would have at least 72 hours to study the text of the final Senate version of obamacare before the critical vote on cloture. And no wonder Reid was so desperate to rush his amendment through the Senate, even scheduling the key tally on it at 1 a.m., while America slept.
True to form, Reid wanted to keep his Section 3403 poison pill secret for as long as possible, just as he negotiated his bribes for the votes of Senators Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, Ben Nelson of Nebraska and Bernie Sanders of Vermont behind closed doors.
The final Orwellian touch in this subversion of democratic procedure is found in the ruling of the Reid-controlled Senate Parliamentarian that the anti-repeal provision is not a change in Senate rules, but rather of Senate "procedures." Why is that significant? Because for 200 years, changes in the Senate's standing rules have required approval by two-thirds of those voting, or 67 votes rather than the 60 Reid's amendment received.
Reid has flouted two centuries of standing Senate rules to pass a measure in the dead of night that no senator has read, and part of which can never be changed. If this is not tyranny, then what is?

I think someone has fallen for the lies and half truths of the right. Remember, loads of people are denied treatment for cancer at the moment in the USA due to costs. A shame when the reforms would be able to deal with that. The facts about it are quite simple.

I do not understand why so many Americans have fallen for lies about healthcare in the USA, abroad and also the planned reforms [1]. I mean, if the healthcare system in the USA is so good, why have no other nations taken it up? Could it be due to the following facts?
FACT - the USA spends more on healthcare PER PERSON than any other nation on the planet [2].
FACT - the US has higher death rates for kids under five than western European countries with universal health coverage [3].
Or if the US healthcare system is run so well, why not run the fire service like the healthcare system? [4]
Maybe that is because in the USA, insurance companies push up costs, buy politicians and refuse to pay claims that people pay for [5]. (Look up Wendell Potter on YouTube to hear more if the link below is too long.)
Obama wants to make insurance cheaper, stop insurance companies from refusing health coverage to those with pre-existing conditions, and make sure they pay out when they are meant to [6], a system similar to that which works in Taiwan [7]. He debated this before he was elected [8].
Is it right that a dead American four year old would have had a better chance of life if they were born in Canada, Cuba, Germany and so many other industrialised nations with universal healthcare?
If you think my arguments are wrong, e-mail me with proof. But if you can not, let Obama try to help America. If he fails, vote him out in 2012.

Even Sarah Palin admitted that her "death panels" fantasy was just a "metaphor".
Fact is that the cost of the for-profit "health care industry" is OUTRAGEOUS in the US, 17% of the GDP, vs. 8-10% in other rich countries, which all have universal health care, and often better vital statistics.
Why do Right-Wingers want Americans to waste so much money?

We can all talk, scream and moan about this Health Care Plan the Administration is trying to shove down out throats, but where will that get us? I understand, this "thing" isn't supposed to go into effect until 2013!! Or so they say!!! The Administration HAS to get THEIR act together before ANYTHING is done! If, God forbid, they manage to throw the screws at us, THEY themselves, should be the first ones to sign up for it! No more of this being exempt from the Public dilemma! If they want us to swallow this crap, then they should too! Why should THEY have their own little Health Care Plan, while we have to grin and bear the consequences of rationed medicine!? They act like they are going to be in power until Dooms Day, instead of a few short years! They forget one thing, and it comes to all of us, we ALL get old, and no matter how much or how little money we have, we ALL eventually die!! Check out some of the ages of these guys that are running around DC right now! Most are well over 60! Are THEY going to deny themselves Health Care, just to save face with the Public!? I think not! The keep harping on about "affordable" Health Care. OK! So! WHAT IS affordable!? They really don't know, because they have never had to worry about where the next dollar they earn is coming from!! What do they know about how much a person can afford, when they have a family to support? How do they know how much an Employer can afford to PAY for Health Care for his employees, without going bankrupt? HE has a family too! What happens when HE doesn't have enough money to take care of his own, after paying for his employees!? The only way he could do it, is to cut back on the number of his help, he will have to lay people off in oder for him to survive. All this Administration is doing, is trying to sell us an idea without substance! If the People don't work, the Government can't collect Taxes!! It's a pity these clowns can't put their efforts into getting people back to work instead of playing "doctor" with our lives! Even if they DO manage to pass this Bill, the People themselves DON'T have to accept it!!! What are they going to do? throw us all in jail?

That is not what your link states. Your link says it is FICTION. Your allegation is false.

    Stop spreading lies and misinformation!

Edit: It is amazing that so many others chimed in to support this falsehood. It just goes to show how the paranoid, right-wing hysteria against President Obama has infiltrated the mindset of so many, including people here on Yahoo Answers, that they will not only believe nonsense but contribute opinions to further support their false beliefs.

    You should be ashamed!

So they ask the CEO of AETNA Ins, Williams. This guy made $24,000,000 last year. And he claims costs are going up. Under single payer, how many of these sponges would we have soaking up all the wealth. The problem with health care is so obvious, no one see it. Health Care doesn't provide health care. They're ins. cos. not Drs/Med C.trs/Hospitals/Pharm. They just drain money out of the system.
