SaaS is the way to get a recurring subscription-based revenue for your hosted application (that runs as a service). Are there any companies in India and around doing big business with hosted applications for small and mid-size enterprises -- something that has really scaled?

Yes Saas is coming as a big potential nowadays. With increase in broadband connetion and speed of internet, its becoming popluar also. There are so many service which are available online to make logos , banners and even doing projects online. Few of them which i know are

SaaS is already being used. Google for example, hosts Gmail for both large businesses and universities. They provide Gmail as a service for these corporations to use for a yearly fee.
