Do you vote for partisan when you know nothing about the candidates?

For instance a city council position.

Sort of. I like to keep power split, so if I know nothing of the candidates, I try to keep a healthy mix of Democrats and Republicans in power.

In most cities, City and School Board Elections are non partisan. If you know nothing about the candidates in such elections, you are taking a chance on voting for someone you don't like. The best solution is to pay attention and find out something about those candidates.

Yes I know it isn't right but the times I've voted I voted straight party

    Just being honest with you

However again this is not the way a responsible person should vote

No.... I have voted for both parties. I don't anchor myself to a party. If I know nothing about a candidate (and I admit that I really don't care much about some electorate local offices like commisioners or JP's etc) I don't vote on those posts.

But let me clear, I do not have a problem with any voter voting straight ticket no matter what his or her party affilliation is. They have that right... even the ones who do not bother to educate themselves on the candidate.
