New dog. Need help with names! Pictures! Plz?

Question

Ok, I am about to adopt these two dogs...

but I don't like their names very much. (Pixie and Dixie) They are 7 years old and was wondering if its too late to rename them or if its still possible and some ideas for new names.
Right now my favorites are:
Ella*
Stella*
Nemo*
Sophie*
Essie
Bambi*
Calli
Daisy*
Trixie
Kia


Any other suggestions? Any can their names still be changed? Thanks!
Oh and they're girls by the way, and please specify which name for which dog. Thanks!

Well, the first issue is can the dogs even be renamed. Most dogs are trained to respond to the sound of their name, and after seven years that training can be very hard to break. But these are cockapoo / Lhasa Apso mixes, and they tend to be either smart enough to pick up new training quickly, or dumb enough not to really care. In short, you can do it, but it may take some time and effort.

Now, the actual names... well, because one is blond and the other is black, Jules and Vincent would make a decent movie reference. Of course, both of these dogs are female so that wouldn't fit particularly well... but Betty and Veronica would be a play on the same theme. If that kind of word play isn't quite your style, Estelle, or its variant Stella would be a good choice, and Aileen, which is a version of the name Helen, and both mean "Light" would make a good combo.

i vote for Sophy (because that's my dog's name), but i'd name t'other one Sasha (because that was Sophy's first incarnation with me.) (yes. i am a crystal-sucking New Age-nik who believes in reincarnation and, that if the situation is right and you need them, they come back. that's why i had two Finnian cats, 10 years apart. that's why Sophy came to me only when i had a big yard, fully fenced (Sasha was an escape artist and got hit by a car one night.) Sophy won't even go out in the front yard.)

i also really like Daisy and Stella.

I guess its okay to rename them now, unless they were trained by their original names, then I'd say no because then they'll have to adjust to the new names. :)

Muffins and Pancakes :) Those are adorable.

But from your list the cutest are Nemo and Bambi.

Hmm.. not sure after 7 years.. but it's likely the shelter renamed them if they didn't know their names when they took them in.. so you might as well! they will eventually get use to it. I LOVE the name sophie.. I named one of my animals that. I also love Lucy.. mindy is a cute name.. pippy.. lulu..

I wouldn't change their names they are way too old.
Pixie & Dixie are actually kind of cute.

Ella is definitely my fave!!
I have a little chihuahua/pappion called Ella and it suits her to a t.
Its a cute name but so are Sophie and Calli.

I think it's wayyy too late to try & rename
7 year old dogs.. I mean you could try. But It think
you might just end up confusing them..

It is not logical to change a dog's name after they are that old, it will just confuse them
