Why am I not losing weight fast?

I count calories everyday and NEVER go above 1300. I really don't exercise but with my height and weight, I know my BMI is around 1400 or so. This is not counting my daily expenditure from working as a hospice nurse and other things like house cleaning, cooking, kids, ect.

If losing weight s\is simply using more calories than taken in - I should be losing weight.even though I'm not exercising. Plus I smoke so my metabolism is slightly higher than the norm.

I was a smoker for 10+ years and then quit a year ago. I gain 26 lbs in that year. I began smoking again because of other devastating issues in my life. I was originally 109 - 110lbs prior tp stopping smoking. That was my baseline weight without exercising nor watching what I ate.

Can't I get back to that without exercising? I maintained that weight all my life, even after 3 children. Thanks again!

-DIETS will not help you loose weight..they will just maintain the weight..they are half of the "Loose Weight Plan"
You have to exercise for the other half..so every time you eat..wait 30 minutes then run or exercise!

-DO NOT stop eating for good..if you think that not eating will help you loose weight its not..it makes u sick and dizzy..stick with good food! :-)

-Eat superfood that are good 4 u like Berries! Blueberries strawberries rasberries are GREAT for you
-Also Broccoli and Celery are great 4 u 2! these give you energy and nutrition

Good Luck :-)

No, as a nurse you should know that you need diet and exercise. As we age it gets more and more difficult to maintain. You need to find time to exercise. I work, have a husband and 3 children (twins 1, and a 4 year old) and I find time to do it. It's not easy but you just push yourself.

Your body is trying to hold on to fat, because of your diet. Try eating 217 calories meals, six times a day. Once your body knows its getting fed 6 x's a day it will allow you to use some of your body fat for energy. Then once a every four days have a breakfast that is about 600 calories. Then your body should burn fat faster.

If you are starving yourself, you won't lose any weight. You'll probably even gain some, because your body will make up for the food it's not getting.

With that workload you have, you need to eat more, and you need to eat a heavyish breakfast, and lots of snack breaks.

    Hi,

If you begin eating 1,300 calories per day then your metabolism will adjust itself so that your body begins burning 1,300 calories per day. If you try to starve yourself by suddenly eating 1,000 calories per day then your metabolism will again ADJUST ITSELF so that your body begins to burn only 1,000 calories per day. That's why you have failed in your past dieting attempts, that's why you always seem to fail when you try and starve yourself.

The actual quantity of food you eat is not the issue. Food is not the enemy and it isn't the reason why you are overweight. In fact, food is the most powerful fat burning tool. The reason why you've failed to lose weight and more importantly keep it off is because you've been eating the wrong types of foods and the wrong type of calories at the wrong times of day!

Our own metabolism system play a vital part in controlling the amount of body fat burned in the process of providing energy to the body. Knowledge about our own metabolism function is the mother to all weight loss programs. With the knowledge you not only reduce your weight but able to maintain an ideal weight and living a healthy life. Best of all you can eat what you most enjoyed without gaining any weight.

Your thyroid gland produced a hormone called Thyroxine that raises the metabolic rate of almost all the cells in your body. The increase in metabolism helps you to feel more energetic, burn more calories, and therefore allows you to lose weight faster. The activity of Thyroxine is controlled entirely by the type of food and the time you eat. Therefore, if you eat the correct foods at the correct times of day, you will subsequently "super-charge" your metabolism and lose weight! By manipulating this concept, your body has virtually no choice but to dissolve those immovable pockets of fat that you've been trying to rid yourself of for years.

When I was a teen, I was slim, I could wear whatever I want, my body looked good, even my face was slim. I'm 31 now, and I get disgusted and hate it everytime I look in the mirror. I was fat, my face looked like a watermelon. God knows how sad I was since all the good and nice clothes out there didn't carry my size. Each and every time, I came home from shopping depressed, upset and I ended up hating myself even more. I'd tried low carb, low fat, extremely low calorie diets mixed with running but it never seemed to work. Whenever I would go back to eating a normal amount , I gained back the weight I had lost, and then a few pounds more. It was so discouraging!

I was searching through the Internet looking for fat loss programs when I came across a web site. After reading about the program, I felt some hope that I could get back into shape. I will admit that I am skeptical about weight loss programs but this program offered a money back guarantee, which gave me the chance to try this without fear of wasting my money. I tried it and I am so thrilled that I did. I have lost 58 pounds so far since 8 weeks ago, and feel great about continuing to lose the fat and reach my goals. I'm never hungry with this program. It seems that I eat more than ever before.

My advice is, you don't need to spend a fortune to reach your goal, just like i do. If you really want to change then surf the link at the source below or else you will get ripped off from online weight loss scam.

you say you quit smoking correct? well..My mother quit and she gained quite abit when i was a teenager, She ate more and then the norm thouh to help stop cravings and so forth.

age, stress and health have alot to do with how fast you lose weight.
Say an older women with stress in her life would not lose but most likely gain.
activity is key to weight loss and it is healthy.
Aslo, some peoples matab slows as they get older and when they have alot of stress..most likely this is stress and not watching the amount of food you are eatting you cannot truely shed the pounds

hang in there goodlooking :) i am sure u do not need to lose much weight.. and u probably need to reduce the carbs and eat more protein.. that would help..

also try lifting weights 3 times a week for 30 - 40 mins.. and doing cardio for 20 - 30 mins.. i can guarante u at this rate u will burn fat and be leaner and more toned...

and yes.. to answer you.. getting further results will be difficult and not healthy for you.. because your calories are low enough.... and u are plateud at this point.. the only way to break through is to workout....
