Has anyone ever filled out for a grant to buy a house and got it?

Me and my husband credit is under 620 and need help. have anyone ever recieved grant money. Where did you go and how can I get one. Jackson ms

Pretty much no such thing. Try habitat for humanity locally or www.hud.gov

Lots of scammers out there. Don't send anyone money; or personal information without checking with the BBB

I received a first-time homebuyers grant through my state last year. This program provided me with 3% of the down payment, provided that I qualified otherwise, and provided that I do not sell the home within the first 3 years. I would talk with any local lender to see about home buyer grants that they offer; however, many still need to qualify for the mortgage with a decent credit score. Having grant money won't raise your score. Generally, these grants are offered purely by the state or city government... avoid the scams that you see all over the internet and never pay for information about the program.
