I need to get a passport, but do not feel comfortable sending my original citizenship document.?

I am traveling Dec. 27th and need to ge a passport. Is it safe to send your original citizenship document? What if it gets lost either by me or the passport office? Is there a way around this?

get a cetified copy of your birth certificate and send that.

why should you be treated differently from everyone else?

they all have to send in their original documents

so then, you must also send in your original documents.
