What should I get my boyfriend's parents for Christmas?

My boyfriend and I have been together for a year and I have met his parents once when they flew out back in may. I don't talk to them but they ask about me and I ask my boyfriend about them. I'm going home with my boyfriend for the first time this december and although i'm flying back home to be with my family two days before christmas, I want to send or bring something for my boyfriends parents as a sort of christmas/thank you for letting me stay with them and visit present. I was thinking some sort of gift basket but I feel like that's too impersonal. Any ideas?

A nice bottle of wine and a basket of anything you have cooked.

How about a framed picture they probably not seen of their son?

Do not forget the thank you card you will sent the the day after you get home!

Gift baskets are not impersonal and always make for great gifts whatever the occasion. You should always include a personal gift note to make the gift more personable.

I personally think that a gift basket always leaves a great impression as a gift, especially an elegant wine gift basket. You should checkout http://www.ribbonsbaskets.com/ they have a variety of gift baskets, some very classy ones that certainly don't say "impersonal".

Get them a really nice quilt or blanket something personal that they can use or set out to remind them of you. Depending on how serious you and your bf are u can also start on a small photo album, just pics of you and your man, nada big.

well, actually it would depend on the gift basket. Some can be made to be quite personal. It is kinda tricky to answer your question since you didn't say how old you are. I am assuming in your twenties since your boyfriend clearly lives a plane-ride away from his parents. Also, how serious are you with your boyfriend? If you are only semi-serious I would play it safe and get them a one-time use gift, like maybe wine, cheese, crackers, and a gift card to their favorite restaurant. That way, and I hope it doesn't it, if you were to break up they wouldn't be stuck with a trinket from their son's ex-girlfriend you know? I hope I was able to help!
