Online person claims 2 b 19. asks 4 genital pics. u send. now person claims 2 b parent of 17 y.o- crime?

i was contacted on myspace by a person claiming to be 19. he wanted to meet me for sex and to have me send genital pics to him. i did. after i sent them, the person claimed to be the parent of a 17 year old and threatened to call police. at the parent's request, i eliminated the contact as a friend on myspace and eliminated his cell phone #. I told the "parent' that I hadn't committed a crime since I had no way of KNOWING that the person I was talking to online and sending cell phone messages with was actually 17, not 19. I am concerned that I have been "set up" and I don't know what to do at this point.

If you still have the messages he sent saying he was 19, keep them. Since you were unaware of his age at the time, there is no way they can prosecute you.

Well do you have those messages that show the person say they're 19? IF you do, then it would be the parent's fault for letting their kid misrepresent themself on the internet. I think this was probably a prank or a snooping parent trying to scare off all their kid's friends. This can happen whenever you are on the internet doing this type of thing. In the future make sure only have sex with people you know are over 18 (know them personally or have seen ID). I really don't think you can get in trouble for what you already did, and why would the parent of a 17 year old even persue something so ridiculous anyways? Their kid is almost a legal adult. If that person sent you pictures of themself, it is child porn so that is illegal, so make sure you only use adult websites and not free ones like MySpace where people can just make stuff up.
