Even in delusion, people are more productive happy and hopeful than depressed and unhappy. If truth is cold... well then not so fun. But what is the truth? Where does science prove everything? I haven't seen how before the big bang, and the big bang itself were conducted in a lab to prove it. It is a theory, and opinion, speculation from logical models, but not proven to be truth.
I am not saying religions can be proven, just that we need to all dust the cobwebs from our brains and see both sides of the story, not one.
If you were a dictator, or one of the wealthiest families in existence... wouldn't you want to protect what you had, plus keep people or the masses controlled? What is big business doing to people? What about pharmaceutical companies pushing drugs on the masses that do not cure anything? Expand your vision and you will see a much larger view.
Religion is one of those such things to control, but not the only one. There are several control systems in place to give the illusion of freedom of choice. But once in the system it becomes some what addictive, human nature with little thinking. It is how they take control, by making good argument, that people are stupid, and others know best. So many give up their will to free thinking and questioning, and allow others to have power over them.
While I see people cut on religion, they seem to miss the facts that they too are part of the system, the game. Most of us have no real clue to what is going on.
God is more than a concept to some.
