Can someone honestly say the bible is good literature?

I read all parts of it and it's very very hard to follow. The plots are all over the place. Characters jump all over the place. There is no real developments. It's just odd mish-mosh of random sentences to the best of my comprehension.?

If it squawks like a duck and walks like a duck, its a duck. You are right. The bible is incoherant. Strangely enough, the universe "created by god" is highly coherant. Guess god just likes to mess with us. Like its all about "love" but the god of the universe needs to be spiteful, vengeful, jealous, angry, punishing, and just plain old mean. Kind of like a child getting angry with ants and then developing a universe that follows quantum mechanics.

Literary critics for centuries would disagree with you.

I dont think you really read the Bible if you think it is just the "mish mosh of random sentences" that you think it is.

Even if you dont believe in the Bible as divine work from God, it is not that hard to follow and it isnt all over the place and it contains some very very beautiful sentiments, even if you believe some of the other parts are crude or harsh.

If you don't know the Author, it doesn't make much sense.

Once you have met the Author, it is beautiful beyond comparison.

Well shure "The Bible is really good literture"? There i have say it and this is why, beucase the bible teaches you the true meaning of Love, thats proabably why you don't understand it.

From where I am standing...there is large portions of it that is comedic relief. If you read it like it's satire.........it's hilarious!

the Bible wasnt written by just one person....it was written by alot of people located in alot of different places..of course its not gonna have the most perfect order...but in the end, it all comes down to the same concepts.

It was good for the standards of its time I suppose. Ordered books as you visualize as being a good standard did not even come about until the 1500's. Before that they were scattered thoughts on scrolls and later codexes.

well certain chapters are only meant to be like "record keeping" and some are just poems or stories, basically its a compilation of stuff. so it doesnt have the best transitioning but its historically accurate and is inspiring and also teaches important values to live by.
