Readers! From who's point of view should my book be written?

Hello, I'm currently writing my first book and would like to know if you'd rather read a story from the authors point of view or from the main characters point of view. I put some examples below. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Its a fiction book. Thanks!

Author: "Justin had just arrived home from school. He had a long day and was looking forward to playing his new video game."

Main Character: "I had just arrived home from school. I had a long day and was looking forward to playing my new video game."

I enjoy both points of view. First person point of view seems interesting because you are only seeing the main character's view, so you only know what he/she knows. Third person is great because you can switch between characters and learn more about them easier. It's up to you. You're the author.

from the main character's point of view, because that way, you can read about their emotions from him/her, and not someone telling their story for them.

Please avoid first person perspective; it is rarely done well and, frankly, today it is over-used.

In my opinion, the main character's point of view isn't overused, but many people tend to think so because of Twilight. Personally, I appreciate all POV's, but I've learned to love books more for having the main character's point of view. It grabs my interest and entices me to read further. Do whatever you want to do, and if you're advised to write in a certain POV of which you're disappointed of the results, then...just do what you want to do. (I'm sounding repetitive, aren't I?) I suppose it just depends on what your strengths are. Best of luck!

The authors point of view reminds me of childrens books.
If you have ever read any Jodi Picoult books, I love the way she writes

I'm writing my first book too, and I recommend first person point of view. I recommend that because it makes the book more personal and to me it sounds better. Also I think it sounds better in your examples too.
