I'm doing a presentation on Kurt Cobain. What 2 Nirvana songs should I play for my class?

Something in the Way, Pennyroyal Tea. Something in the Way is about living under a bridge when he was a homeless kid, and Pennyroyal Tea is about being fed up with everything. I think those two are both very personal and well-written, plus they aren't obvious choices like Smells Like Teen Spirit or Heart-Shaped Box.

The reason that I didn't put down "Smells Like Teen Spirit" is because it really doesn't show of his vocal ability as much... and that's their most widely known song.

You have to use Teen Spirit even though the song sucks.
Hmm, Heart shaped Box. FYI did you know that that song was originally to be named Heart Shaped Coffin and In Utero was supposed to be named I Hate Myself and I want to Die. The record company wouldn't let them do that.
You know you could play the song I Hate Myself and I want to Die. That would be cryptic.

"Smells Like Teen Spirit" was their big break through hit and one most people would recognize. I think you should play that one and one that you like.

As someone who dearly loves Nirvana, I beg you not to use Smells Like Teen Spirit. They have MUCH better songs than that. Two of my favourites are Serve the Servants and Old Age (Nevermind Outtake). IMO Old Age would go great with a Kurt Cobain documentary.
