Can my dad go to jail for doing this?

Last night my dad took up my iPod for a stupid reason. It was his weekend to take my sister and I (my parents are divorced). (I am 15 years old and my sister is 16 (but cannot drive yet). I'm in marching band, and my sister is in colorguard, so when the football game was done, he was going to take me and my sister home with him. But when we got to his house he said that we were going to his girlfriends house [whom I ABSOLUTELY do not like, and her house is really far away from where he lives]. I threw a fit, he got mad, took away me and my sister's phones and iPods. Left us outside his house at 2:00 in the morning with no transportation, no communication devices, NOTHING. We had to use the neighbors house phone [at 2 in the morning!] to call my mom to pick us up! We filed a police report, but it doesn't seem like enough to me, for what he did. He pretty much left us for his girlfriend.
Can my dad go to jail for doing this?

Sorry for making this too long.

If your Mother presses charges, there is a chance if convicted. I believe it would be for Child Endangerment. But I am not a lawyer so I can't say for sure.

He definitely loses visitation rights!

I am very sorry you and your sister had to go through that.
