Can i paint a baseboard radiator someone told me if i paint it the heat wont work wright is that true?

I'd say something about getting free advice from strangers - but then, we're on YA.

Baseboard heat is usually a metal enclosure covering either an electric heating element or a hot water pipe. The element or pipe then has many very fine metal fins on it to improve the transfer of heat from the pipe to the air. Painting those fins would decrease heat transfer and decrease air flow - but it is almost impossible. So you must be talking about painting the metal enclosure. There is absolutely no reason you can't paint this enclosure - the air flows behind it to the heat exchanger. The enclosure only serves to enhance airflow by chimney effect or to reduce airflow if you close the little movable flap. Paint will not affect either of these functions.

You can paint the heater, But do not get paint on the heating coils inside. The same is true for the cast Iron radiators. Paint acts as a insulation & slows down the heat.
