How long do you expect your new furniture to last?

I have a love-seat that I really like. It's 5 year old, my dog destroyed the fabric on it. Would it be more economical to have it re-upholstered than buy a new one?

How long should we expect a couch to last nowadays?

Thanks,

A well made frame will last several life-times if not abused.
(Look at all those antiques out there.)
'Junk' won't. Just what quality frame are we talking about?
Even if you really like that frame, check out replacement cost versus
custom upholstery. It's expensive, but you do get just what you want.

I got a old couch Broyhill quality had it redone for $400. and it is awesome. cheaper than new, and more durable. This way you can pick out the exact pattern and material that you want. My Aunt still has the couch 8 years later Older furniture is better built. Cheap now so u must buy over again
