How do I remove film left on windows?

Hello, we are moving into a house that had new windows put in about a year ago. They left the film covers on the windows and now they are melted on the glass. There is no way of really peeling them off. Is there any way to have something eat away at it quickly? The windows are already set in so I cant really soak them in anything. Thank you!

Try using rubbing alcohol or finger nail remover. It works really well on getting super glue off and also the stickiness left over from say a child putting a sticker on the refrigerator. Good luck!

Just delete it from your hard drive...oh wait...

Use any solvent to dissolve the glue sticking the film to the glass. Petrol will work well, but will make the house smell horrible. Something like meths or surgical spirit won't work quite so quickly but will not smell as bad. By peeling off a corner, you should be able to progressively remove the film in one piece or in large strips, using a rag dipped in the solvent to dissolve the glue while peeling off another section and removing any residue in the same way.
