I have 11 blue spruces in my backyard which act as a screen from the noisy street. Why are they brown inside?

They are about 13-14 ft tall. are they dying off?

It is normal for them to be brown on the inside. All coniferous evergreens get brown on the inside. There could be problems like too much water and insects or disease but to answer youe question , yes its normal. Are the tips of the branches still OK ? Did they have new growth last spring ?
