Washing machine pipes help?
I'm wanting to put my new washing machine in ect.. So I've turned the the hot and cold taps off < But i wanna unscrew them of the pipes but even though I've turned them off I'm scared asoon as i screw them off water is gonna come shooting out? < I have some kind of phobia ya see to do with pipes and water, it's complicated to explain = strange haha. Right so if i unscrew these water wont come flooding out will it? as i've turned them off? I just need some reasurence that water wont come out of them?. Also my new washing machine just uses a cold tap so when i plug that in i just leave the hot tap off.

abit of water will come out but if you have a bucket ready to catch it then it won't make a mess.have the mop handy just in case.

There will be some residual pressure in the small length of pipe but this can be relieved by;
switching the old washing machine ON for a brief period before you disconnect it and immediately after you've turned off the water.
There will still remain a dribble or two in the hoses drain this into a low lying bucket.

A little water will come out after you take off the hose. that's normal.
It's just the little bit of water pressure thats still there.
The thing you have to be careful is that you cut off the water to both the hot and cold feeds.

Turn off the water supply valves and then turn on the washer. This will tell you if the water is turned off at the valves. Don't leave the washer run very long with no water source.
