Searching for a computer online?

Ugh, I have a 12 year old computer so it's time for a replacement. It's done great and spent about 200$ on it :) the brand was a vpr matrix from best buy. Right now I am looking for a computer because it's like I have to have a jack up the power on my computer like you would the old days with electricity or something lol I think the video card area is going out so I have to turn it on and off for 30 mins then it starts working. So you can see my frustration.

Any who to get to my question. I have been looking around on new-egg for a computer pc.

I am trying to get a pc that's gaming capable and multimedia capable I do graphics and game. What do you think the best specs would be to run this type of stuff? My games right now include wow, and aion.

Any extra would be great, I haven't bought a computer in forever so I don't know what to look for anymore.

Something like this HP computer would fit the bill nicely. The video card it comes with is kind of weak, but will run the games you named out of the box.
I would recommend replacing the Readeon 4350 with something better, but other than that you would be good to go.

For the processor, go with a dual core or, even better, a quad core
For the RAM, get ddr2 or ddr3 4 GBs
The the video card, I would get an nvidia 200 series if you have the money (it will last longer) but if not, get a 9000 series (or ATI equivalent)

Basic and cheap setup would be:

Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, doesn't have to be the quickest one, not that big of s difference in performance but big difference in price. Quad Cores are too expensive and small amount of software can use all 4 cores efficiently.

2-4GB of DDR2 RAM depending on your needs. DDR2 is cheaper than DDR3 and it works well with the CPU above. Tests show that DDR3 is only about 5-10% faster than DDR2.

DirectX10 graphic card, 1GB of VRAM. mid- or high-end. Popular models: GeForce GTX260 and ATI Radeon 4870

Hard drive and PC case depending on your needs. PSU - with two 6PIN outputs, support for ATX2.2. 400-600W output.

That's about it, you can always customize the parts, but all the gaming PCs I've put together were similar to this.

What you definitely want to do is build a computer yourself. There are pre-made computers for gaming, but they cost (literally) hundreds of dollars more than they should be. If you don't want to bother spending a day learning how to put it together, then those are fine for you, but the best thing to do would be to build your own.

What you'll need (not all, but the basics you'll need) are:

A decent hard-drive. For gaming, you want lots of space, maybe around 500 GB. You also want to make sure that the HDD (Hard drive) is a SATA HDD.

You'll want AT LEAST a Duo core processor, but for gaming, I seriously recommend at least having 3 cores, maybe even 4, but those are a bit expensive.

For RAM, you want capped RAM, which is pretty cheap if you get a good brand like Kingston where you can get 4 Gigs for like $40-$50.

A video card you'll want something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as… It has DDR3 RAM which is good.

For a gaming computer, you definitely want a water cooling system or at least MULTIPLE fans. Here's something good: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as… But you'd need a processor that fits with it.

There are other things you need, these are just some basics.

1,open ur old puter case and clean out the dust with a can of compressed air.
2, dont buy a whole computer from a parts retailer.> no service dept!
they dont even have a loby!
    3. if you want a custom build puter or build one yourself, buy parts from Fry's, and after all other parts are gone, go to newegg.
if you want to buy a ready one? go back to bestbuy!
    my advise?
get a custom builder in your area to build uou a puter, it costs about 1/4 of the retail price.
