does tertiary education mean the level of education at university and colleges? do both Post-1992 universities and the tradtional uni's use tertiary education ?

Tertiary is anything you do that is above secondary.

It refers to the stage.

Look at most things and they will talk about primary (first, main or most important things), secondary (second, important but not as important as primary) then tertiary (third)

If you look at something like school Primary generally refers to the first 6 or so years of school where you learn most of the basic skills.

Secondary generally refers to the next 6 or so years and is where you can further your knowledge in the basic subjects and also learn some new subjects.

Tertiary is generally uni or tafe and follows traditional secondary school. This is usually where you do courses that will get you a job
