If you have been diagnosed with BPD you need the Wellbutrin which is an antidepressant. You also need an anti-psychotic medication. When it comes to antidepressants some will help others but may not help you. If after 4 weeks you don't notice a difference it is time to talk to your psychiatrist for a change. You probably should be taking an anti-anxiety medication which is extremely important to help with the anxiety.

There are specific therapies for BPD. The normal therapies won't help you. One is Emotion Regulation which of course teaches you to handle your emotions in a healthy way. BPD is caused by truama or traumas in childhood.

There is also Cognitive Restructuring Therapy which helps you to change the damaging way that you think. As a child you were never able to learn how to control your emotions in a healthy way. This is not your fault and you have no control over it.

There is also a newer faster therapy called EMDR which is specified and requires a therapist who is trained specifically in this therapy. With the help of the therapist you are able to bring forth the trauma or traumas that are in your subconscious mind and those that you know about. When this is done you are able to learn to process them in your mind in an adult way instead of the ways that you weren't able to learn as a child. But all of these therapies are needed to learn to live a healthy and good life.

Wellbutrin is a great SSRI replacement. Depending on your severity of symptoms and what exactly your symptoms are, you may need more. But Wellbutrin can assist your diagnosis, yes. But everyones system is different. You need to see what is best for your particular diversity. Time and experimenting is the only way to find out what is best for you.

A dr will know the best thing to try if youve been diagnosed with this. Sometimes it takes going thru several meds to find the best one for you. No one here can tell you what you should do, or what meds you should take. Thats a drs job. Id go with a professionals opinion over anyones opinion here.*
