What are some quick, easy ways to make myself over?

I want to give myself a mini-makeover. Or even a big one. But I'm not sure how.
I want to dye my hair, but my mom is dead set against it, after giving me no good reasons (I'm willing to pay for it, and do it myself. I'm also seventeen, and it's not the first time I've ever dyed my hair). What are some other ways I can give myself a makeover? I'm pretty average, around 5'6", fair, clear skin with freckles, dirty blonde hair, hourglass figure. How can I make myself over? I don't have much time or money, I want to do it this weekend.

Go to a mall: Have your hair styled at Fantastic Sam's, have a makeover at a make-up counter. Maybe have a manicure and pedicure. Buy a new outfit. Leave the mall "brand new".
