Someone help me understand the meaning of this poem!!?

Lament

Sleep and death, the dark eagles
Rush all night long round this head:
The golden image of Man
Swallowed in the icy wave
of eternity. On dreadful reefs
The crimson body shatters
And the dark voice mourns
Above the sea.
Sister of stormy dejection
Look, an anxious vessel
Sinks down beneath the stars
The Silent face of night.

Although the author once believed that people were pure and good in their hearts, that perception has been shattered. Having lost his faith in others, he now feels alone, as though in a dark and silent place. Depressed, he sees nothing in his future but inevitable death.

The Greek god of the ocean is the first thing to come to my mind.
But the first line portrays Ravens and old age so I'm thinking the titanic but i may be wrong. This poem may also tell the journey of death with the line "The Silent face of Night". But that is just my opinion.

i think of this : dark eagles ... eagles with head of eagle and body of lion, from mythology

dark voices, and, sister of stormy dejection ... syrenas, who pursue man on boats with their voices to reefs, afterwhile that man sank... the meaning in the anxious veseel, sink beneath the stars... sink in water beneath the stars... the silent face of night.. meaning of how those waters came calmly after sank sailors ....

the whole poem : lion eagles flew above boats where men proudly stands on their deck, where waters are on storm, and bravely resists the voices of sirenas who lure sailors to dreadful reefs, where is their death and sink, in silent face of night :)
