The question is moot.

Nihilists dont think apathy is real and apathetics dont care what nihilism is.

    Hi

I think it could be yes but in this way, first you feel that nothing worth a piece of poop, so you have to face a hard situation, then you develop your culture, intelligence, and you become able to argument and justify your apathy.

But when you are the nihilist guy you are not apathetic at all, in your own way your not apathetic your intelligent, but to other people you are nihilist.

So you could say that nihilism is an apathetic way of thinking, but it can be just the contrary, cuz if you deny any chance that your life have meaning itself but you build it that it's less apathetic that believe in some God, I mean, the nihilism it's more difficult and more helpful to a person, cuz that person will believe in no one but himself.

So defintly no. But if you're depressive it more like you'll be nihilist, cuz you face the world in different way than the other happy people.

Apathy and nihilism don't go together.

    bye

That's a big negative in my opnion.

    Nihilism:
    4. Philosophy.
    a. an extreme form of skepticism: the DENIAL of all real existence or the possibility of an objective basis for truth.

    Apathy:
    1. absence or suppression of passion, emotion, or excitement.

As a nihilist myself, I would argue that apathy is just general inaction whereas nihilism is work. Every day I wake up and feel that 'there is no right or wrong, there is no god, there is no truth...' and every day I must defend those statements. To be apathetic, when asked why I felt that way, my response would be "just because--it doesn't matter, that's what I choose."

But to be nihilistic, I have to defend my point of view from a logical standpoint.
