Best place to visit in India during late december?

Question

Hi I will be in India from 2àth decmeber till the end. I will be in delhi but I know that north India is very cold in December, I do not have time to go to south India so can you all please suggest me good places to visit in India.
Also please tell me the best places to visit in north India.

Hi

In north you must plan for Kullu Manali - lovely hill station. It must be cold but you can enjoy the snow.
Then you must visit Rajasthan and check out the forts at Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Jaipur and Udaipur. In fact winter season on Dec would be the ideal time for Rajasthan. Lots of architectural beauty and scientific marvels - including Hawa Mahal and Jantar Mantar.

You can also go to Uttaranchal.

Well just in North India I would recommend places such as Darjeeling, or Shimla/Kashmir, or Kulu Manali due to their snow filled scenery, and winter wonderland like atmosphere.

But if you have time to make it, I would also recommend Goa, because it is not hot, and you can pretty much enjoy the beach all day long, unlike in the summer when you can only step a foot out of your hotel couple of hours after the sunset.

But in general, December is a great time to travel generally anywhere in India due to the low heat, and middle of the winter season.

Late December should be spend in the hills of Himalayas like Shimla. I know it sounds different but, the real beauty of hills can be felt in winters, believe me this is my personal experience. have you ever seen beautiful another sun temple in Gujarat which I think is better than khajuraho or konark with wonderfull stone arts

MODERA SUN TEMPLE --a wonder in Gujarat -70 km from Ahmedabad and 20 km from Mehsana .Tourist awarness is so pathetic that it remains less crowded almost all the year .plenty of buses are available from Geeta Mandir Bus stand

LOTHAL --6000 years old Harappan civilisation --80 km from Ahmedabad at Dholka --by train --Gandhigram on metre gauge and get down at Lothal khupri station and by bus from Geetamandir bus station

Goa.
It's not in North of South India; kind of in the middle, but on the west coat. It's an amazing place in the winter - beaches, etc. And very friendly people! Also, there are many Christian people there, so the Christmas season and parties are a lot of fun.
