How do I stop fuzziness when recording the guitar track?

I use a Spider lll 15 watt amp, a Gibson Black Beauty Custom, and Audacity (I'm cheap I know.) For some strange reason I get this sort of fuzziness that happens and it completely envelops the guitar. There isn't an effect for it so someone of experience please help?

You're most likely overdriving the input on your soundcard which causes nasty sounding distortion. Assuming you're connecting the the headphone output of the amp to your soundcard, try turning down the master volume on the amp so the signal going into your soundcard isn't so strong. Also try turning off the effects to see if that helps.
There's nothing wrong with Audacity, it's a very good product and best of all it's free. :)

Are you micing the amp? or direct line into computer? Try both...

Sometimes pick ups will pick up electrical interference from computers, phones,...stuff like that. So keep your guitar pointed AWAY from your computer when recording.
