Settlement visa question?

Married 5 years. Me american husband british.Applying for settlement visa so i can settle in Uk permanently with my husband. have a previous overstay history. everything else in my application looks pretty good! application being dealt with at LA Consulate.

I called my courier as my application is in process now and he said the consulate told him that they are waiting on a report from UK regarding my application. I am thinking this is something having to do wit my overstay as I heard they have to do investigation. Anyone have this done before or know anything about it?

They will be sending to the UK for information regarding your previous overstay. Depending on what is in the report will determine whether or not they issue you a settlement visa.
It does add a considerable amount of time to the process when they have to investigate previous immigration history.
