What is your thoughts on this 26 Suspected Illegal Immigrants Arrested Sheriff Joe Arpaio said his office will continue to enforce immigration laws ?
PHOENIX -- Maricopa County sheriff's deputies arrested 26 suspected illegal immigrants Monday evening during two separate traffic stops in the north Valley, authorities said.

According to a news release from the sheriff's office, 18 of the suspected illegal immigrants were arrested on state human smuggling charges. The remaining eight were turned over to Immigrations and Customs Enforcement.

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said his office will continue to enforce immigration laws, despite the loss of part of his 287(g) agreement.

Under a 287(g) agreement, local law-enforcement agencies are given the ability to enforce federal immigration law.

The news release also hinted that a "wide ranging crime suppression operation is imminent."

I don't have any problem with it. He's probably going to get shut down my Janet Napalitano eventually. She messed with that man all the time when she was governor in AZ. She's messing with him even more now that she's the homeland security chief. Hopefully he'll bust as many as he can, but eventually Washington is going to tie his hands. It's too bad. He's the only one that's actually doing anything here in AZ.

How does one get here to become legal?
When these people come here do they intend on staying and spending their money here? Most don't. They take it home or send it home.
Why are some still allowed to cross the border to work and take their money home and not utilize it in the states ?
The law caters to some and not the others. I smell pay-offs somewhere.
I say, leave them alone because most of this controversy is "much ado about nothing" and the system obviously is not working and everyone living here now, had family that migrated here.

Arpaio is the elected chief law enforcement officer of Maricopa County.

He should do whatever it takes to keep the peace and uphold the law like he was elected to do.

You ask about this sheriff arresting illegals, is this right? If he is arresting illegals that is his job. If he does not do this he is not doing his job and should be replaced. Somebody says he should be fired or deported must have illegal activities they would like to perform. A law enforcement officers job is to uphold the law. If you do anything illegal his job is to arrest you and put you in jail. If you continue he should charge you as a habitual violator and bring those charges against you in court. Anybody who does not like a man that is elected to enforce the law should change the laws. The man is doing his job and most peoples complaints have been they do not like the law enforced. These are ridiculous complaints that have no merits.

What if Mr Apaio decides to turn on another group to get the publicity that he craves.

Would you endorse letting him arrest all white anglo saxon males who do 1m over the speed limit, for example?

Why should he stop? He was elected to office to enforce the laws. All the laws not just the ones that the corrupt politicians want enforced!
"Ability to enforce federal immigration law"? If that is true then what if obamas 2 girls were being kidnapped by a known child molester/murderer? Kidnapping is a federal law! Would obama want the police to wave goodbye to the kids while the police wait for the feds to show up? I somehow doubt this! Why should any other law be different?

"What if Mr Apaio decides to turn on another group to get the publicity that he craves.

With over 50% of the crimes committed in AZ committed by Mexican nationals in the US illegally I would have to say that he had the right group! No need to change! Plus his deputies stop drivers who are speeding all the time! And that includes "white anglo saxon males" but they have to be dong more than 1 MPH over the speed limit!

That's what he was elected (for the 4th time) to do.
If PX citizens did not like or appreciate what his office is doing they would not keep electing him.
If Phoenix is such a hostile, racist area for the illegal aliens they need to leave. Why would anyone stay where they are not wanted and constantly harassed? Answer, the officers are not racial profiling, and the illegals do not feel threatened and harassed.

This sheriff can hold his head up in any venue or group and be proud of doing his job well. These Illegal ALIENS are not immigrants, but they do give immigrants a bad name and a harder path to follow. We need to up-grade the migrant laws as too many folks are coming here for just the bucks. In turn people that are running from persecution of various types can't get any help because the system is jambed up with folks too lazy to change their own system. ILLEGAL "anything" says it all. Fuk'em. IF THESE PEOPLE WOULD SPEND AS MUCH TIME FIXING THEIR OWN COUNTRY as they do trying to steal what other folks have worked to set in place we would probably be trying to "break into" their country.
