What sports are Pit Bulls good for?

I have my eye on Great Lakes Bullyz right now. This is their page for their males:
http://greatlakesbullyzeurope.com/males.…

"Hollywood I Am" is GORGEOUS. Freaking stunning.
I don't have the money to throw down $5000 on a breeding (nor do i even have a female for this) but someday i would love to own one of these pitbulls.

what "sports" are they good for? Are they any good at Shutzhund?
Im rather unfamiliar with Pitbulls that aren't just pets, so any insight is appreciated.

Pits are AMAZING at weight pulling competition.

These dogs are so athletic, smart, and obedient that they will excel at almost any sport. Agility, dock jumping, schutzhund, and flyball are a few that come to mind.

By the way, YES... Hollywood I Am looks fuuhhhreaking AMAZING!

You had me at Weight Pulling.
Flyball also looks awesome, but I don't think we have anything like that in my little itty bitty town- I know we have weight pulling though!
Try www.tatonkakennels.com they are great with great dogs

That is a very pretty dog-but he is FAR from the breed standard and not worth the money. Do some research and look into the real American Pit Bull Terrier, they are a sleek, agile breed-never "bulky"- they are exceptional at agility, any kind of obedience, weight pulling and frisbee. They would be good at any protection training but enough people think they are evil-no need to make a hobby out of making him "attack." I have nothing against Shutzhund but I think there are better ways to spend time showing your dogs talents. Get an APBT into agility and show everyone how athletic and smart they are in a possitive way.

you need to do your research. Pitbulls need clear direction, they need an owner that is well versed in their needs. Pitbulls are not to be taken lightly, they need an environment with an owner who is a gentle but someone who can give them the respect and guidance they require. Some womble on here has said they are only good for fighting and killing, that is because he is a complete idiot who has no grey cells between his ears. Dont listen to people like this, do your research and know what you are getting, be clear about what you can offer as an owner and the time you are willing to give to a dog such as this breed. They are not too different from other dogs but do require a leader who is firm and knows their temperaments and what to do in likely scenarios should things get out of hand. You would be better to get yourself a dog from a shelter who needs a family and someone to love them. That is far better than getting a dog for status or because someone thinks they are cool. Be your own person, make your decision based on knowledge and want rather than need.
    good luck.

    I agree with CApit.

The dog is beautiful, but the dog is not correct to the breed standard, actually, he is quite far from the breed standard and there is no justifyiable reason to charge $5000 on a stud fee for a dog who has no working/show titles, there isn't any other reason.

But to answer your question, they can excell at almost anything. Weight pulling, Schutzhund, Obedience, Agility, etc. etc.

But I would like for you to do, is research more on the REAL APBT. Believe me, research on REAL APBT breeders(no blues, no bullies aka oversized hippos), you won't be dissapointed and you won't be charged an obscene(such as $4000 or $5000) amount of money for a dog who's only purpose is to look good for the breeders camera so they can post and show how "bully" he looks without any working titles/ or real show titles.

I have seen them do every sport there is. My uncle bred them for hunting, friends do pulling with theirs. Mine likes dock jumping and can out jump a lab. They do feild work, thats scent trailing. You name it they can do it. Try this kennel better dogs.http://www.ironcrosskennels.com/males.ph…
