What are some victorian romance novels that involve an obsession?

    Yeah, if you're looking for Victorian romantic obsession.. Wuthering Heights is your book!

    Another one, it might be slightly earlier than Victorian though.. would be The Sorrows of Young Werther by Johann van Goethe. That's pretty damn obsessive.

    Frankenstein by Mary Shelly. The Doctor is obsessed to create life. He shuns the monster, later the monster could be said to be obsessed with his own creation and not feeling acceptance by his creator.

    Look at Uriah Heep and his mother in David Copperfield. Look at some of the Revolutionaries in A Tale of Two Cities. Many of Thomas Hardy's novels, including Return of the Native would qualify. Joseph Conrad's Lord Jim would be a good example of obsessive behavior. In the US you could think of The House of the Seven Gables and Moby Dick. (This last one is,perhaps, not very romantic.)
