Strange occurrence using a TI-84 plus graphing calc?

I went to the y= screen and typed in something like y=radical (x+2). When I went to zoomstat to see the graph, the calculator screen went blank. I hit a button and it said came up with the screen "TI-84 plus Ram cleared." Why did it do this? Is this a big issue? It hasn't randomly done this before or since.

No, it's not a big issue, mine does it all of the time. It simply means that the calculator ran out of memory to run off of from all of your old calculations taking up space. It cleared the RAM so it would be able to run.

Actually, this may have been a simple corruption error. In truth there are many reasons it could happen but unless your using Apps and Programs frequently I seriously doubt your RAM was full. One time I was tinkering in World History II and all of a sudden the screen sort of twisted up and it looked like a TV when it's not picking up a station. Then it froze and turned off. When I pressed a button it said, like yours, "RAM Cleared". Then two seconds later we had an earthquake that rocked our classroom, and we all evacuated. Coincidence? it's hard to tell
