Show me another »

Can you please help me figure out what this could meen?

My exboyfriend and i broke up two months ago and havent talked since. i did text him first;twice about a month ago though. [wen we ended he kinda liked another girl. and then after homecoming he talked to his ex. but im his last gf and he told me he loved me.. he wrote this as his status last night:

'i held on longer than i should
believing you would change your mind
and those bright lights in hollywood would fade in time.
But your wheels just turn down the road ahead
If it hurts at all, you aint showed it yet
I keep looking for a sign
that you might miss, what you left behind
I know theres nothing stopping you now
But i'd settle for a slow down'

Does this relate to me or the other girls? ://
(Bc A week before we broke up he wrote the lyrics to the song 'echo'.. which goes like "you did it to yourself, now your all by yourself"..so it was talking about me) i still reallly like him.

I am sorry to pour ice water over your hopes BUT his verse means nothing more or less than an outpouring of teenage angst.

I do not believe he is speaking of any one person but rather about romantic angst in general. He feels that this person is being self centred and not looking at his needs, Rather an old idea and an old home spun philosophy that has been covered in many many songs... A poor man's roses or a rich man's gold"..... He feels the person is chasing after an elusive dream that will never happen but all the while ignoring the "love" that he offers which he feels is more real. He wants the person to take note of him and his "love".

Whether he means you or the other girl or just love in general is not clear.

This I am sorry to state is very typical of 17 to 19 year young adults no matter the gender. The lure of the tragic "love" that is not returned is all too often a plot in poetry and stories, it does not make it more or less real, just simply very common.
