Why does my dog lay there and stare at me?

My dog stares and stares and stares. Sometimes it freaks me out. She doesnt stare at anyone else who is around just me. I'm her owner and she is VERY loyal. I wonder though why she stares.

There are breeds that specifically do the stare thing, Border Collies, Austrian Kelpies, Cattledogs and many other herding breeds. They are bred to look to the owner for directions; they get their command, do it then wait (stare intensely) at the owner for the next job.
