WHY do so many people die in Harry Potter??? (SPOILER ALERT)?

Seriously it just pisses me off!!! Why did J.K Rowling have to kill so many people?!
Dobby, Tonks, Lupin, Sirius, Mad-Eye, Snape, Dumbledore, Hedwig, and FRED!!! HOW COULD SHE KILL FRED?!

I loved the series but I hate how so many awesome people die :`(

I don't mind having people die - it was a war, after all - but not enough of the BAD GUYS die. I really wanted to see Malfoy (either father or son) buy it. And Bella. Definitely Bella. All Molly did was Stun her into the middle of the next decade. There should have been Death Eater corpses all over the place (and a dead Umbridge, preferably).

haha very true... god i hated umbridge
The people dying just further the plot. I'm not necessarily a fan of all the deaths especially Sirius, Dobby, and Fred but it means to show that not every friend can survive. Harry has to make sacrifices, J.K. Rowling needs to show that it actually was a wizarding war. More death eaters need to die.

It's her story so she's allowed to kill off whoever she wants. Harry has to lose loved ones in order to grow and have more incentive to destroy He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. You grow attached to those characters just like Harry does so you can feel his pain when they passed away. It's moving and makes a great series.

Because she wanted to emphasize how dark the last few books were and how great a sacrifice was made to kill Voldemort. But I agree with you, I'm pretty ticked that she killed all those people too. Especially Snape... :'(

to find out the real reason why you would have to ask Rowling hereself lol but i think its so that there is more drama so that poeple will keep on getting anxious about knwoing what will happen next. like if one character dies then youll be like omg dont let someone else die too(like say your fav character or soemthing who seems to be in danger). its sad and makes you want to cry cuz so many people die but i gues since its her story she decides how she want to write it..

I love the series too, and I literally threw the book at the wall when Fred died. And Hedwig. And Sirius. My books are looking pretty beat up now...

But anyway, I think it's so that you wonder who's going to make it to the end of the series alive.

Reading every book thirteen times. Except the first one, which was sixteen...
