Im laying 900x600 paving slabs trying to work out how i can cut the slab to fit around manhole cover?
can i do this with an angle grinder or somethig else?

Ask at a tool rental place. You may never use the tool again so why buy it. You can probably find a stone saw that works like a scroll saw.

Robert F is 100% right. A diamond blade cuts easily, quickly and cleanly. An ordinary masonry blade takes forever, kicks up a lot of dust and you get a rough cut.

They previous answers is right with Angle Grinder.
You can hire one or ask around your neighbours and friends. But if a friend loans you one you must buy your own blades as that is the expensive bit.
See of you can borrow some ear protectors as well.

I layed a stone slab yard about a month ago and use my angle grinder with a diamond blade. Worked a treat.
