Can i use regular vinyl siding for under skirting?

I have a lot of siding left over from my house . father in law wants new under skirting ...my work is never done :-(

Vinyl siding is the absolute worst thing you could ever do to your home. Your house is basically wrapped in plastic and the wood is going to rot. There is a 100% chance of that.

Throw the left overs away and save him from wood rot. :)
